As long as I have known my good friend Cath (AKA Kate!) I knew her parents were very special people. The news of Maresa's MND diagnosis was such a bombshell and yet seeing how she coped over the past year was truly inspirational. In spite of her own suffering, messages from Maresa always focused on her asking after my family's well-being and reflected a calm acceptance of her situation, sustained by a genuine living faith. On my visits to see her I was always entertained by her showing me funny and cheerful clips or photos, usually of cute animals. I was disappointed not to be able to attend her funeral but she will always stay in my memory forever as one very special and lovely lady who I'm so glad I was able to meet.
